The Tourism Advisory Board is an eleven member committee made up of volunteer residents and business owners both in and outside of Town.  On the second Tuesday of every other month the Tourism Advisory Board meets to work on heightening the Town's exposure among potential visitors, and improving the visitor's experience so that they will keep wanting to come back again and again.  Some of the Board's duties include developing and assessing tourism marketing projects, coordinating past and upcoming events, and making recommendations to the Town Board on decisions effecting Palisade's tourism industry.

Board members are appointed by the Palisade Board of Trustees to four-year terms.  Each member plays an important role in crafting Palisade's brand as a great cultural and recreational family destination.  The Board has a mix of members from lodging, retail, wine, agriculture, recreation and at large members which helps ensure that a diversity of interests are represented.

Funding for marketing campaigns comes from a $2 lodging fee that is collected by lodging establishments from Palisade's overnight guests.

Palisade Bluegrass & Roots Festival

VOLUNTEERS

Palisade is gearing up for the 2018 Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Festival, and we need volunteers!  Each year gets better and better, and we know that this festival couldn’t happen without you.
The website to sign up to volunteer is finally ready, and you don’t want to miss out on our 10th anniversary festival! We have so many new and exciting things planned this year, and we are excited to welcome back a few of the bands we have had at our festival over the last 10 years (the full line-up will be announced on our Facebook page on February 1st!).
Most shifts are scheduled in four (4) hour increments. Volunteers  must work two shifts to receive a full weekend festival pass. New this year: All volunteers are required to work two (2) shifts.
All volunteers who get their application turned in by May 1, 2018 will get a 2018 volunteer t-shirt. We have to place the t-shirt order that week, so those who get applications in after the deadline will not get a shirt - sorry, but no exceptions.
Dates for the 2018 festival are June 8-10. We have many opportunities for volunteers during all three days, and even a few jobs available a few weeks before the event. Please contact me directly if you wish to work before the festival, as the application online will not allow anyone to volunteer unless they are pre-approved. Jobs before the event are very limited and include things like putting up posters around the valley, folding programs, etc. so get those requests in early.
Please take a moment to read the Frequently Asked Questions on the volunteer main page. Even if you have volunteered in the past, some of our policies have changed this year, and this section may help answer any questions you have regarding volunteering in 2018.
The link to access the volunteer sign-up page is: www.palisadevolunteers.ivolunteer.com. Complete instructions on how to sign up are on the main volunteer page that this link takes you to.

I look forward to working with each of you, and if you have any question, concerns or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me at kfrasier@townofpalisade.org or (970) 464-5602.
