Town Planning title

Following the exciting passage of the Palisade Comprehensive Plan in 2007, Town staff, Board and Planning Commission members have been working with consultant Richard Grice of Four Corners Planning to create a new Land Development Code which will help the Comprehensive plan take physical shape within town limits. The new code specifically spells out a new set of rules to govern how our built environment is managed, developed and changed.

A land development Code affects everything from the height and composition of proposed structures, to the type and intensity of businesses that can be developed in what zones of town. A land development code, much like the Comprehensive Plan it aims to empower, answers the questions: what, where, and how, as they apply to land use.

The Board of Trustees has been considering the final adoption of this code, and will vote on the issue on Tuesday, May 27th  at the Palisade Veteran’s Memorial Center (120 W. 8th Street) at the regular meeting to begin at 7:00, PM.
